SOS Web Services is a privately owned and managed website design and website management business based in Westmeath, Ireland.

Unless you are interested in dealing with us, we have no need and no interest in actively capturing your personal information. There are however background processes running on our website which will record some basic information about your visit for very specific purposes..

  • We use Google Analytics to monitor how visitors use our website, but this information does not identify individual users.
  • We use security monitoring software to protect our website. This will capture and filter IP addresses to help keep the website safe from unlawful access and junk mail.

If you wish to contact us, you will initially do so via an enquiry or order form. Any information you provide is on a voluntary basis and will be used for the purpose of responding to your query or processing your order.

What Type Of Information Do You Collect?

You will initially be asked for some basic information to help us process your query or order. This will typically involve your name, some information about your business and your contact details.

Should you become a client, you will be asked for further information about your business which is relevant to the delivery of the service you have requested.

We use Stripe to process card payments and your payment data is not shared with us.

We take every reasonable to step to ensure your information is secure.

  • Our local systems are equipped with professional security features
  • We maintain good housekeeping practices, deleting "dead" enquiries and destroying any sensitive information once it has been processed
  • We use reputable payment, hosting and software partners who maintain their own stringent security protocols

Please remember that general business information (including contact details) are sent via the internet and that we cannot 100% guarantee the security of these. Information forwarded to us over the Internet is entirely at your own risk.

How Long Do You Hold My Information For?

If you make an enquiry but do not avail of our services as a result, your initial contact information will be removed from our systems within three months. If you become a client, your information will be retained on our accounting and service systems for as long as you remain a client and then for as long as is required by law.

We will not undertake projects which are initiated by individuals that are under 18 years of age. It is assumed that all persons contacting our business are over the age of 18. In addition it shall be assumed that anyone contacting us on behalf of a business is authorised to do so.

Transferring Your Details Outside Of The EU

By offering your information to us, you are acknowledging that they could be transferred to locations outside of Ireland. This could happen if a server is located offshore or software licenses are issued by businesses that are not Irish based.

We cannot guarantee that these locations have the same protection laws as we do when it comes to personal data but every reasonable step is taken to ensure that they have stringent policies in place for managing user accounts. By giving us your information, you are agreeing to these terms.

As SOS Web Services is based in Ireland, all transactions entered into shall fall under this policy and under Irish governance.
